Rank is the bid.
Nothing else.

Open Billboards is a public square. No ads, no API keys, no revenue share. You pay to stand above everyone else, in the open.

How ranking works

01Billboards are whole US dollars. $1 minimum, $999,999 maximum, one dollar at a time. A bid on the board keeps its amount until it is raised or outranked.
02Taking #1, the marquee, costs at least $5 more than the current #1. Paying less still puts you up, at whatever rank that money can take.
03Equal bids stay in the order they were placed. The older bid keeps the higher rank.
04Today’s board ranks what you spent in the last 24 hours. Each payment counts for a day, then drops off. The same payment also counts toward your all-time bid.
05Enter the same link or @handle again to raise your billboard. The new bid must be at least $1 above your current one; you only pay the difference. Nobody else can take your spot by paying that difference.
06App Store, Play Store, GitHub, Spotify and similar platform links are keyed by their path, so different apps and artists don’t share a billboard. Tracking parameters are ignored.

01A website, an app, a release, a profile, or an X @handle.
02Chat and invite links can’t go up: Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, Messenger, Signal and the like. The square is for products and people, not group chats.
03Nothing sexual. If it is porn, NSFW, or an adult platform, it does not belong on the square.
04Query strings are stripped. Affiliate, referral and tracking links will not work.
05Link shorteners are replaced by the link they point to.

01You pick a district when a billboard goes up for the first time. Wrong district? Ask and it gets moved.

01Your billboard is public. Clicks go straight to the link you submitted, with no tracking of your visitors.
02A completed payment is what claims the rank. No refunds. When you are outbid, your billboard stays up at its new rank.
03Crypto payments claim their rank the moment the chain confirms, usually within minutes. Card payments claim instantly.
